While there are a number of techniques and methods practised in the Indian textile industry, tie-dye has a unique place - from traditional to modern, all kinds of techniques are performed by artisans and craftsmen to make Fabric Twinkle like a star.

Tie-dye is an easy and simple way of creating the fabric more colourful and attractive. This timeless fashion trend can never go out of fashion and will surely be a treasure for your wardrobe. Binding, folding, scrunching, twisting, crumpling of fabric before dying creates mesmerizing and unique effects.

Tie and Dye is a simple and ancient technique from which the patterns are created. Just as in the name - ‘Tie’ and ‘Dye’  - first the fabric is tied with the threads and then poured into the dye to create different and unique patterns.

Turning the wheel of time upside down, we always knew the art of dying fabric however, Tying is much more ancient than Dying. China and Japan were the first to introduce this technique to the world as early as the sixth century AD. In ancient times the process used to be very different. Extraction of natural dye from nature like plant roots, leaves, berries, and flowers. The fabric already tied was then dipped into boiling water for a particular period so that the fabric absorbs the colour properly. Shells, ornaments, beads, coins, stones, and other materials were tied with the help of threads to create the patterns.

Even in Central American culture, this practice was followed, however, the threads that were used for weaving were also  Tie-Dyed threads.  This technique gives a different art to elements to the fabric.

In this Magic, the magician assembles classic bright pigments. Colour combination is the basic part that can stand out in the design. Mixing of the dye, adding powdered dye with the water and mix well (avoid using hands). Pour this dye into the bottle and shake well again. Fold the fabric and soak it in warm water to consume dye easily. Now soak it in the tub and let the folded fabric take a dye bath meanwhile we can sing and dance. Squeeze the fabric so that dye can reach the end of every fold. Wait for 24 hours, keep the fabric in a plastic bag and let it sleep for a while. Wash the dye material and carefully cut the threads.

The magical process is simple and can be easily done by anyone, anywhere, and with few needed material. There are different patterns created like small circles, stripes, pleats, spiral, V-shape, and many more. These techniques are designed with tying fabric into different methods.
