The saree is crafted in the holy city of Banaras, also known as Varanasi, in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh in India. The process of making this saree begins with the selection of high-quality cotton fibers, which are then spun into yarns using a traditional spinning wheel called ''charkha''. These yarns are then dyed in a deep blue color using natural dyes, giving the saree its signature sky blue shade. The skilled weavers of Banaras then handloom this saree using a traditional technique known as ''jamdani'' or ''jamawar''. This involves weaving intricate and delicate floral or paisley motifs onto the saree using extra weft technique.
